7:00 AM – 10:00 AM Rotary Pancake Breakfast- Stone Church- All you can eat, Pancakes,Sausage. Great food, even better waitstaff. Adults $5.00 Kids $3.00.

9:00 AM- Sliding Party- Newport Moose Lodge- Bring your sleds and your Helmets to theMoose for a great sliding event. Put on by Women of the Moose. Ribbons.

10:00 AM- 7:00 PM- Open Skating – Town Common. Free skating, hot cocoa. Hut open all day.Free skate rentals. BBQ.

11:00-3:00- BBQ-Town Common- Newport Friends of Rec and the PTO present the greatsausage & burger fest! Come eat!

10:30 AM- Skate-a-thon – Town Common- Come try and break the record. 140 Laps in onehour! Ribbons and free hot dogs to all entrants.

11:00AM- 3:00 PM- Castle Bounce & Jousting, Town CommonBring the kids to bounce around in the medieval castle. If you are feeling a bit frisky, try yourhand at our joust competition.

11:00AM – 2:00 PM KUBB Medieval Stick Throwing Contest, Town CommonTry your hand at a game that has transcended time. A Scandinavian game of “throwing wood” isstill played with the world championships in Gotland, Sweden. Come and give it a try. Prizes. Nocharge.

11:00 AM- Ski Joring- Parlin Field- Separate Divisions: Open/ Locals/ Beginners. Carla Skinder 542-6065. Food vendors on site.

December 1st Event

Sunapee Harbor "Magic" A Christmas Celebration!!

This wonderful family event on December 1st promises to be bigger and better then ever.

A wonderful day of activities is planned for visitors to the Harbor! The "Loony Lunge" will kick-off the celebration with a splash at noon. Included in the festivities are workshops for... cookie decorating, wreath decorating, ornament making, fabric chains, and holiday cards. Other activities include... story reading - face painting - magician - caroling - silent auction - horse pulled hayrides - yummy treats - a visit from Santa - a "Magical" Christmas Parade and tree lighting... plus another "magical" surprise! Apple Pie Craft Fair

August 25th, Saturday ~ 33rd Annual Apple Pie Craft Fair, a fund raiser for the Library Arts Center, 9 am - 3 pm, rain or shine on the Newport Town Common. Featuring 100 craft booths, food vendors, chicken BBQ by the Newport Firemen's Assoc., and an apple pie contest with judging at 11 am. Pies are then sold by the slice. Also, visit the Richards Library Festival across the street, featuring craft demonstrations, book sale, cookie walk, dance programs and music. The Fells Benefit Auction at The Fells
Under the tent in the beautiful Rose Terrace, this is an important fund raiser to benefit the gardens and grounds of The Fells. Begin with passed hors d'oeurves, libations and a silent auction at 5pm, followed by Emery Sanders on the auction block from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Dessert and ballroom dancing to the lively music of the Granite State Stompers wind up the evening.

The Fair is named for the delicious home-made Apple Pies that are donated by bakers from all over town and sold to benefit the Library Arts Center.

A big event is the Apple Pie Contest, judged by local luminaries the day of the Fair and the prize-winning apple pies are sold by the slice after the contest.

Also, 90 booths of crafts, music and entertainment, as well as The Firemen's BBQ; a truly town wide event!

A Sugar River Business Support Group of Micro-Credit NH Event Saturday, July 14th 10am-4pm Newport Common Main Street, Newport, NH This is a networking event with family appeal. There will be vendors available with product to sample, purchase, promote and peruse- something for everyone! Food, drink and entertainment will be on site and demonstrations will be set up throughout the duration of the expo. This is the do not miss networking event of the year! Frisbee is alive and well in Newport!

Starting on June 2nd and for 4 consecutive Saturdays from 9-12 noon The Newport Recreation Department, under direction of Newport Grad Jacob Stout will be conducting a Ultimate Frisbee Pilot League. These days are free of charge to see what kind of interest is in the Newport Community for Ultimate Frisbee. You will be required to sign up at the Newport Rec ahead of time, but there will be no charge. This is a great chance to get out and play. There are no age or gender requirements, but generally it is from 9th grade through and including adults. Get hooked on Frisbee! Also the Newport Disc golf course is open for playing. 18 holes starting at the high school. Please get out and play. Discs can be bought at Napa Auto Parts right here in Newport. Course Designer James Beaulieu is also looking to start up a Disc Golf club. If you would like more information on this free, healthy, family sport, give us a shout.
